Announcing Advanced Rails Studio, and More!

(Tue May 23, 2006) [/Studio#

Today we're excited to announce the date and location of the much-anticipated Advanced Rails Studio, and two other Studio dates for your fall schedule.

Advanced Rails: September 28-30 in Boston, MA

The state of Rails development has advanced to the point that many folks are ready to take on the tough problems and dig deeper into Rails. So in addition to our three-day, no-experience-required Rails Studio that teaches you how to use all the key features of Rails, we're happy to offer a new Advanced Rails Studio. And we made it one better!

We're thrilled to announce that Chad Fowler will join Dave Thomas and me in teaching Advanced Rails. In addition to being the author of the recently-released book Rails Recipes, Chad builds real-world Rails apps by day and is a long-time member of the Ruby community. As a Rails (and Ruby) master, everyone stands to learn a lot from Chad, and we're delighted to have him on board.

Now, why stack the instructor deck with three experienced Rails developers? Well, we simply thought advanced folks deserved to have a broad and deep collection of experiences to draw from. In addition, we're going to run this Studio a tad differently. It will be an intensely hands-on, interactive workshop where you'll work in small teams doing practical Rails work to gain experience using cutting-edge techniques.

And to make sure you're also surrounded by a premier cadre of experienced Rails developers to learn from, you'll need to convince us that you're ready to attend. To qualify, send us some Rails code and links to any deployed Rails apps you've written when you sign up. Alternatively, if you have good experience but can't share your work, send us a paragraph or two describing your Rails experience when you sign up.

Registration is now open!

Rails: October 9-11 in Dallas, TX

If you're not quite ready for the advanced stuff, there are still seats available in the upcoming Rails Studio on August 9-11 in Columbus, OH. Then Dave and I are headed south to Dallas, TX on Oct 9-11 for another Rails Studio.

Sign up today to reserve your seat!

Ajax: September 11-13 in Boston, MA

Stu Halloway and Justin Gehtland have packed this workshop full of useful, hands-on labs and practical recipes for using Ajax to redefine the user experience of your web app. They give you access to a shared server so that you can get your hands dirty (clean?) with client-side Ajax quickly, without getting bogged down in the details of setting up some random server on your laptop. It's a fun and practical way to learn Ajax techniques you can put to good use immediately.

Sign up by July 31st to take advantage of the $200 early registration discount.
